Today we visited the only recognized waterfall in the lower peninsula. It is very small, but fun to swim and splash in.
Jasper and I worked up an appetite with al that swimming.
Back at the house, Jack snapped this cute photo. I wonder what he is thinking about?
Although Japer has been on a ferry, I think today he had his first true boat ride. When you're in a rowboat you can actually feel the waves and you have to wear a lifejacket, that's real boating. He did very well. Jack was trying to get him to sit on his lap, but Jasper insisted on being in the center seat. My dad took a few laps with the motor on, Jasper smiled a little bit and waved at me once. Once on shore, he tried to steer Jack back to the boat. Later in the day, he spotted the rowboat and said, "Mine."
A post-nap ride in an inflatable boat.
Here is Jasper mowing his grandparent's lawn about a year ago.
And here he was mowing this morning. This boy is getting so big!
These pictures are from a couple of days ago. Today we'll be traveling to pick up Jack after he flys in to another town. I think these picture are much better than any images of us packing and cleaning today.
He loved the chickens. I had to stop him from entering the coop.
Jamie wanted Jasper to meet the sheep she raised on a bottle.
A little summertime swinging.
Our friends lent us a mini Thomas the Train set. He loves it.
Mimi and Grandpa took Jasper to see some trucks after dinner. I think it was the highlight of his day.
It rained this morning, but then the sun came out. This pleased Jasper and Mimi.
We also had a visit from a friend who brought over an inflatable guitar. It was a big hit with Jasper and his grandparents.
Our friends have a great little playhouse in their backyard. You have to take a ladder to get to it, so it was up to Mimi and Grandpa to help Jasper. They played with him too.
Then we took a walk to the river.
Later that evening, Jasper and I found a cicada at his great grandma's house. He may have been a late bloomer, it seems a little late in the season to find one. He looked alive, but didn't move one bit.
As night drew, I noticed fireflies in the yard. I pointed them out to Jasper, but he didn't really get into them. Maybe next summer...
