Our Week in Review

We were sure busy this week, 17 blogpost pictures busy. You've been warned.

I'll cheat and start with last Saturday. We had a nice lunch picnic with friends. I didn't get pictures of the actual picnic, but I did catch Jasper near some nasturtiums in the Tilth demo gardens.

On Monday I had a prenatal appointment and my friend watched Jasper along with her kids during low tide. She sent a picture of his first encounter with a starfish. He wouldn't touch it, but she said that later he was brave enough to pet an anemone.

Hey, being on the beach is serious business.

Skip ahead to Thursday, we went downtown to visit dad during his lunch break. That morning Jasper had discovered my binoculars and couldn't part with them. They make him look like such a tourist.

He loved watching this street musician play the slide guitar. Notice the crazy blue tree trunks in the plaza.

That night we took in some Hawaiian Soul music in the park.

On Friday it was time to get our Mariners on!

Staying cool in the team store. A picture of two Mariners fans.

Heading home before the game ends, he's two after all.

We didn't really go out on Saturday, but Jasper created this amazing hat with a bib and washcloth. I had to hand him a mirror so he could appreciate his creation.

The weekend closes with a birthday party for a friend at a park with train rides. Jasper is very into choo-choos these days.

Peaking out of a play tunnel.

Train ride!

A hug from the Birthday girl.

We stopped by a friend's home to visit another friend in town from NYC. We didn't take make many pictures, but here's Jasper playing with a wheelbarrow. I really want to buy him a sturdy wheelbarrow so he can help us with our many yard projects. He shows promise in this picture.

Back At home as I made dinner, Jack went outside to mow the lawn. He came back inside with a small harvest. The blueberries were polished off during dinner.

Hooray for garden tomatoes!

Whew! Jasper and I are going to take it easy tomorrow. We might just lounge around in our PJs all day.

Zydeco go-go

What's that you say, a free zydeco concert in the park? Jasper, Nana, and I were down for that! There was shaking...

and dancing.

Oh how Jasper loves music.

Hoops

Today Jasper and I went to our first WNBA game, it was Jasper's first basketball game. Every year Seattle Storm hosts a "Kids Day," and he had a great time. He was very good at clapping when the crowd cheered. Jasper would have made it through the whole game, but I decided that we should leave a bit early.

Whoa!

Trying to cut in line....

Little spectator.

After the game we surprised Dad at work.

Important matters were discussed.

Then a quick trip to the Pike Place Market where he accompanied the corner pianist by playing his snack container like a drum.

I wish I could have taken more market pictures, but when you're alone with a toddler it's scary to step away. And being pregnant has me feeling a little slower these days. Jasper was able to take in three street musicians and work on his people watching skills. All in all, it was a big day for us. I think we will both be sleeping soundly tonight.

Jennings Park

We have been taking plenty of pictures of our summer fun. The weather has been amazing! I thought I'd try to share a picture here and there.

Jasper loves trains. He was delighted to find this one at a newly discovered park.

Then there was the giant chicken sculpture. Believe it or not, he did not want to leave the rooster's side. He was a chicken for his first Halloween, so that may be the explanation.

Meet Baby Number Two

Jack and I went for the an ultrasound on June 27th and oh my, I can't wait to meet this cutie. We are keeping the sex a surprise, so we had to look away during some parts of the procedure.
The first set of pictures is a profile with mostly the head. The top of the head is on the right.
This set of pictures is the same orientation with more of the trunk.
My pregnancy is going very well overall. I feel like my only symptoms are my belly and a slightly sore back at the end of the day. It's perfect timing to have Jack come home after work and do most of the Jasper-lifting.
Jasper is very interested in the baby and my belly. He kisses my belly every so often. I suppose it's hard to feel threatened by a round belly. Still, it's pretty cute.

Here are some color schemes I'm thinking about for the nursery. Any with purple or pink would be added later if need be.

And now for something completely different. I've been cutting some flowers from the garden and made two small arrangements with purple sweet peas, lupine buds, and pink dahlias.

Happy 4th of July!

We are going to an afternoon picnic with friends and staying home tonight. Our street is very "festive" so we stay home with the dog (who will probably have to sedate), and take in the show from the front row.
