Joseph at One Month

Joe turned one month on Christmas Day. With everything going on, I was only able to take this sleepy picture.

Today I was able to snap a smiley picture.
Thanks to Great Aunt Laura, Joe is all geared up for the Rose Bowl. For the next couple of years.
Jasper and Joe smiling at each other with Mr. Potato Head looking on in the background.
A special picture going out to our family in Michigan. We're proud of you for making it through the big ice storm! Jasper has a very sweatshirt that we bought while visiting this past summer. I think he'll be thrilled to see a snow plow in person some day.

How to Eat Christmas Cookies at a Party

First, make sure everyone is paying attention to your baby brother, this shouldn't be hard. Then, slip away to survey the Christmas cookie selection carefully. Don't rush into a decision.

Choose your cookie.

Repeat as often as you can get away with it. It is always good manners to help replenish the cookie tray. This also gives you an opportunity to make sure your favorite cookies are available.

Don't forget to open presents.

Remember to thank your brother for being such a great distraction.

Christmas Photos

A few Christmas morning highlights...

Jasper's gift opening skills improved over the course of the day.

Joe appears to be unimpressed with his new book. Perhaps he was expecting something with more substance...and pages.

Jasper was so sweet as he opened gifts for Joe. He would show his brother the present and let Joe know it was for him. This picture shows a new set of pacifiers. Lucky baby.

It took us all day to get through Santa's presents, stockings, and gifts that had been mailed to us from friends and family. We went to cousin Debbi's for dinner, I'll post those pictures soon.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

It's been a fun Christmas season this year. Jasper really seems to understand that Santa is coming. We have been listening to Christmas music and reading holiday stories so he is also excited about Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman.

My parents were here during the first part of December and they were able to do some fun Christmas things with Jasper. I was so grateful they were able to take him downtown to meet Jack and ride on the Holiday Carousel. Joe and I were able to go with them to a local nursery to see a live reindeer and a model train village.
We had some snow yesterday. Jasper and I put this sign out and it worked!
Check out the boots and the Santa hat by Aunt Laura.

And here we have a Seahawks hat by Nana.

Stockings are for your feet, no?

Cookies have been baked and decorated...

Oh, and all the boxes! I don't get out of the house much these days, so I've had to rely on my internet shopping skills.

Aparna and her mom visited. Aparna did a great job holding Joe.

Joe sleeping again.

Joe the skeptic.

And a sweet Joe smile.

I need some sleep, but...

...before I settle in, here's a sweet picture of Joe.

I haven't been able to post as much now that Joe has made us a family of four. We've had visitors and dinners brought to us and cards and gifts arriving in the mail. You have all helped with the transition. I hope to post more soon!

Joe just before his fist bath at home.

Oh, the anticipation!

Joe after the bath. It didn't take him long to recover.
